Name: Gilbert Beilschmidt
Aliases: The Emcee (MC)
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Birth date: January 18, 1897
Sexual Preference: Bisexual, but he does enjoy sleeping with women more often then with men.
Religion: Protestant
Birthplace: Königsberg, Prussia
Current Residence: He spends every second he possibly can at the Kit Kat Klub, but when he turns in for the night the Emcee returns to a shabby apartment that he often shares with beautiful strangers. He also spends quite a bit of time in other people's beds.
Job: The Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Club
Hair Color: Snow White
Eye Color: Blood Crimson
Height: 5'9
Weight: 125lbs
Recognizable Features: Like many people in Germany and his home country Prussia, the Emcee is rather underweight for his hight. When undressed the result is an almost skeletal frame with skin stretched tight over muscles built up from preforming and ribs that are faintly visible. Fully clothed the most noticeable results of his lack of body mass is his thin fingers and gaunt cheeks.
Poor sleeping habits leave the Emcee with dark bags under his eyes and blood shot eyes that make it appear as if his crimson iris's were leaking out into the whites of his eyes. Though his drinking habit have yet to make a physical appearance, the Emcee's smoking habit has caused his teeth to start turning yellow. A stain is even starting to form on his right hand where he holds is cigarettes.
However, what really makes him stand apart from the crowd is his smug smile that completes his ghoulish appearance.
Personality: The Emcee is loud and mischievous, often making lewd comments for a good laugh and doing things that one wouldn't consider appropriate to get other people's attention. Unfortunately for the Prussian this behavior is frowned upon by most of society, leaving the Emcee with very few friends outside the Kit Kat Klub. Though good-natured the Emcee frequently annoys many of the people he works with when they're not preforming. He especially the cabaret girls.
Though he greatly enjoys bed time activities the Emcee has absolutely no interest in serious relationships, finding commitment and responsibility too much for him to handle. He does have a small crush on one of the cabaret boys but gave up on asking the man out after several failed attempts to explain his sexual interest.
The Emcee hates being ignored and absolutely fears being alone, though he'd never admit it. He often shares his apartment with various partners and when alone the Emcee spends the night writing about various activities that happen on and off stage in the Klub. When left alone for too long the Emcee tends to drink heavily and fall into a depression, spending too much time looking at the past rather then looking into the future.
Likes: Beer, lively music, beautiful people, and interesting company.
Dislikes: Hateful people, prudes and the idea that things should be taken in moderation.
Fears: Being alone or being singled out as well as having to take care of others
Strengths: Great at dancing and singing, no one can get a laugh out of the crowd like he can, and you can ask anyone he's shared a bed with for the rest.
Weaknesses: Childish and inappropriate, not good at making friends, and can't explain his feelings well.
Stance on Government Issues: Is concerned and displeased by the direction Germany is headed in, but cannot bare to leave his "home" the Kit Kat Klub.
History:
Gilbert Beilschmidt was born into a middle class family in the city of Königsberg, Prussia. An oddity not only in appearance but in behavior, the young Gilbert was kept out of public view as often as possible by his parents. Gilbert spent most of his early years either working in places where no one he associated with knew his family or inside his house causing trouble. When the Great War came around in 1914 the seventeen year old attempted to join the army, but was kept home because he wasn't up to physical army standards. The frustrated Gilbert instead watched his father go off to war. It would be the last he'd ever see of the man.
Gilbert found himself suddenly the man of a house that had no respect for him. After a year of failing to be the breadwinner that his mother demanded of him, Gilbert fled on train across the Polish corridor leaving his younger brother to take care of his rapidly aging mother. Despite expectations of finding himself finally free, Gilbert found himself struggling to keep himself fed and clothed. Gilbert spent two years traveling around Germany looking for work before finding himself in the streets of Berlin working as the Master of Ceremonies in a Cabaret.
Though he's been working at the Kit Kat Klub for over five years now he is only known as the Emcee. With going so long with no one to celebrate with him, the Emcee isn't even sure when his birth date is. However the crowd loves him and his playful attitude and his coworkers tolerate him enough that the Prussian considers the nightclub his only true home and the cast of the cabaret his real family. The only time the man feels guilty about abandoning his blood relatives is when he's alone with a drink too long.
The Emcee has made it his duty to keep a journal of every performance in the Club. However he isn't keen on sharing these "official records". He's running out of bookshelves to keep them in.
Roleplay Sample:
"Willkommen!" The Emcee shouted out to the crowd front the back corner of the stage, smiling like the cat that got the cream. "Welcome! Ladies! Gentlemen." The eccentric host winked at a man in the audience causing the entire crowd snicker and a few of the more dignified members of the crowd to blush.
Pleased with their reaction so far the Emcee sauntered up to the center of the stage, throwing his arms open. "Willkommen im Cabaret, Welcome to Cabaret! How are you tonight? Are you ready for a show? Tonight we have a special guest for you! You better be prepared because she's smoking hot and itching to jump out of her clothes!"
The Emcee stepped back and grinned and the crowd of men roared in approval at this announcement. Kesesese, tonight was going to be fun.
